SCEnography : costume : writing : production
The short version: Scenographer, costume designer and playwright based in Norway, educated in the UK.
I'm a scenographer and costume designer
- a maker of clothes, things and theatre.
I started out with a film making degree from IFSW and an MA Scenography from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. As a costume designer and maker I am (more or less) self taught. I love the process of making theatre, whether it is expressions of contemporary dance, multimedia performance or theatre in its more traditional form.
I work as a playwright, and currently I am one of the in house playwrights at Dramatikkens Hus - The Norwegian Centre for New Playwriting (NCNP), a national development and resource center for new dramatic writing. In 2015 i received a one-year working grant from the Norwegian Arts Council and my plays Culparegelen and Bilde av frukt som rotnar was shown at the Dramatikkfestivalen (the contemporary playwrights festival) in 2015 and 2017.
Alongside my visual work I'm continuously looking to develop as a writer.
I have experience from project management both within the performing arts and from previously running my own shop and creative collective Lucky Buttons in Grünerløkka, Oslo. I have worked as a stage manager at Teater Innlandet and more recently, since 2014 I've been the producer of Prøysenspelet, a yearly outdoor theatre event in Norway.
